MooGoo - The product that is changing my life
My eczema troubles started at the age of 2, initially only on my back then later progressing into the creases of my arms and behind my knees, further onto my whole body when I became a teenager. Now it has become a real problem and has completely manifested itself from the top of my head down to my ankles with promises of me ‘growing out of it’ forever failing. I’ve tried everything you could think of getting over the counter from E45 to Avené to Aqueous and Diprobase and Hydrocortisones. I then moved onto more specialised treatments such as Kenalog steroid injections, Immunosuppressive drugs such as Cyclosporin, Azathioprine, Methotrexate and Alitretinoin, and steroid creams of different strengths. I had a 2 week inpatient visit to St Thomas’ Hospital in London for respite eczema care where I was treated with Coal tar, Zinc wraps, Betnovate of high strengths, Hydromol wash balls, 50:50 emollient, Alphosyl shampoo and bleach baths, amongst other things. I’ve had 16 weeks of UVB ray phototherapy, stress therapy and counselling, adopted a meat free diet and yet with my
Immunoglobulin E level still sitting over 4500, I have yet to find anything that will even settle my eczema, let alone get rid of it. It continues to plague my life. I’ve most definitely come to terms with the fact that my skin will always be extremely sensitive and that I will always have eczema, but the most difficult task is always going to be trying to find something to at least control it.
Originally, I didn’t want to be too quick in saying that this cream is my final fix as I was still scared that like most other things I’ve previously tried, that it’d work for a while and then wear off. But in the short time frame that I’ve been using this cream, it has proved to be nothing but ‘udderly' fantastic, putting my skin in the best condition it’s been in for over 5 years.
After having been suggested to look into MooGoo by a customer at work, I emailed explaining my situation and supplied photos so that my circumstance could be easily understood. I was met with a reply from the lovely Laura who has been nothing but an absolute angel through this entire process, and I could sing her praises until ‘the cows come home’. She gave me excellent product advice, support and understanding of my condition and very generously sent me samples of every suggestion she supplied me with and I was very impressed by the speedy delivery of the items which I was able to start immediately.
Scalp Cream - My new ultimate holy grail product
Perhaps one of the best things about these products is that they’re not jam packed with damaging nasties. The scent of this cream is fresh, milky, completely inviting and the consistency is an absolute dream during application! For once I’m not left greasy, shiny and sticky; my clothes don’t become ruined and stained and again, the smell of it is amazing! Another added bonus is that with this product, a little definitely goes a long way, meaning that a bottle of this liquid gold lasts me so much longer than other things have in the past. I apply this cream whilst my skin is still damp after a shower which creates a silky lather, then applying as necessary as and when I need to. It’s specifically great for my face where I suffer most from splitting and cracking skin, harsh dryness and severe redness, but it has also worked magic on my neck, chest, stomach and lower back. Having been completely steroid dependant, I mixed this cream with a pea sized amount of my steroid creams for a few days to wean my skin off of the medication and I’m now left with beautifully clear skin which I only sometimes have to moisturise 3-4 times a day! I feel that I normalise my eczema up to a certain point and I don't think it is as bad as it really is as I have become used to it. However, eczema on the face becomes such a personal thing as it is the first thing that people concentrate on. This is the product that has changed everything for me, and I hope it only continues.

Irritable Skin Balm
I really do believe that these creams work their best on different parts of my body, this one being fantastic for my arms (surprisingly not too well for my face). My main ‘scratch zone’ is definitely my forearms which are rarely healed as my eczema tends to hold a lot of water under it causing uncomfortable pressure, leading to me constantly picking and itching. Similarly with the Scalp Cream, I used this and weaned my skin off of steroids by using a mix of both steroid and balm and never have my arms ever been so clear in 5 full years. They barely even itch which is an absolute revelation as they’re usually always on fire and are currently not even becoming dry; the moisture I am able to retain in my skin is just incredible. With other products previously, I have had to apply and apply and apply every hour in order to try and get out of the itch, dry skin, scratch, broken skin, itch, healing skin, scratch, back to dry and broken skin. Now, my skin feels so creamy, almost like satin.

Skin Milk Udder Cream
The original MooGoo. This cream is so beautifully rich and nourishing, and whilst it’s described as light, it still remains thick and incredibly creamy. Unlike the rest of my body, my legs have not been clear of eczema completely in over 3 1/2 years. This has caused real discomfort for me, specifically in the summer time when I feel that I can’t wear skirts and dresses because I always have blood and weeping open wounds covering my legs entirely. Because I’m so uncomfortable with baring my legs, this means the air rarely gets to them causing a never-ending cycle of permanent eczema. This cream has solely cleared up 3 large and deep open eczema sores over the course of 3-4 weeks, mostly without the use of any steroid creams. My legs still do itch a little and even though they're definitely not completely healed, the difference in them from what they usually look like is so amazing I can barely believe it.

Cold Pressed Tamanu Oil
Unfortunately, I don’t yet have much to say about this product as I haven't been able to use it for too long, meaning that I haven't yet seen the full effects of it. Suggested for the healing and lightening of my scarring specifically on my arms and legs I am really looking forward to trying this product. The repetitive open eczema - not helped by picking and itching - has left my arms very shiny, red and marked, and my legs are dotted frequently with large puckered purple scars which I can only hope will be reduced by the frequent use of this oil. The product itself is, again, lovely, lacking a greasy and sticky consistency meaning that I won’t be as conscious to quickly pop it on before I have to be anywhere.
All of these photographs have quite obviously - since it's now October!! - been taken a while ago and since then my skin has become even more fantastic. I currently have not got once scrap of eczema on me and by only bug bear right now is my dry and flaky face but, however, I can now clear that up in 3 days with the help of these fantastic products. I am also almost 6 weeks steroid cream free! That is absolutely amazing to me as I used to have to apply half a large tube of steroid cream all over, twice a day.
I want to express that I don’t get excited for a product, not for trying new things due to the expectation of things working. Nor do I ever find results with anything, until I found and tried MooGoo. This is not endorsed by MooGoo, nor have I been encouraged to write this by any of the team. This is my way of exclaiming to anyone how completely baffled I am about this product; how amazed I am that something with no chemicals, no paraffins, no steroids and no nasties is working an absolute miracle on my skin that has shown no sign of cooperating with any formula for multiples of years. These products make me smile, they make me take pictures, they make me more confident in the skin I am in that I could ever dream of. I feel so grateful for the lady where I work who told me about MooGoo and even more grateful for the impeccable customer service and care that I have been so lucky to receive. The quality of the products are nothing without the quality of the staff behind them.
